Louise Taylor

Louise Taylor is a Dorset-based jewellery designer and maker whose work is inspired by the colours and textures of the sea. After completing a BA in Jewellery at Central Saint Martins, she relocated from London to Bournemouth, where she has been teaching and creating jewellery for over two decades. Louise taught City & Guilds jewellery classes at Bournemouth & Poole College and later at Arts University Bournemouth, before establishing her own studio practice and private teaching workshops in 2010.

Her current collections combine silver and gold with enamel, gemstones, and patterned paper set under glass, creating vibrant, contemporary pieces that reflect her love of colour and craftsmanship. Louise’s work is known for its playful yet refined aesthetic, often drawing on natural forms and coastal palettes. She sells her work under the name Platina Jewellery, and continues to share her skills through community classes and one-to-one tuition.
