Helena Symes

Helena Symes is a designer-maker based in Southsea, Hampshire, whose jewellery practice is rooted in a background in Fine Art and shaped by her travels and cultural exploration. She began working with silver while studying under a jeweller in Rajasthan, India, and has continued to evolve her craft through experimentation and self-directed learning.

Helena’s work is inspired by tribal cultures, colour, and the beauty of repetition and geometry. She incorporates recycled and found materials, combining silver and gold with elements such as aluminium and hand-dyed components to create pieces that are rich in texture and contrast. Her jewellery is both sculptural and wearable, reflecting a deep appreciation for form, movement, and the unexpected beauty in discarded objects.
