Harriet Walford

Harriet Walford creates jewellery that is playful, tactile, and interactive. Her work often features spherical forms and moving parts that invite touch and exploration. With a background that bridges both medicine and art, Harriet brings a unique perspective to her designs, blending structural curiosity with aesthetic sensitivity. She works with a variety of materials including precious metals, leather, and found objects, using traditional techniques alongside experimental approaches. 

Her jewellery is designed to surprise and engage offering a sensory experience, sometimes an unusual catch or a small container that is both beautiful and functional.

She continues to make balls and containers, and over the past year has developed new and unusual linked chains in silver, copper and brass. Catches and closures are a particular focus – one of her bracelet catches has been viewed more than 8.7 million times on Instagram – and she still hand-crochets ropes from sterling wire, a technique she has explored since graduating. A hollow-forms course at West Dean this year has led to further new work.
