Gillian Hackett

Gillian's jewellery explores the interplay between geometry, movement, and elegance. Working from her Hampshire studio since 2007, she creates kinetic designs in recycled sterling silver, often accented with gold and gemstones. Inspired by architecture, engineering, and the natural world, her pieces are designed to shift and transform with the wearer - inviting interaction and curiosity. Each piece is handcrafted using traditional goldsmithing techniques, with a focus on sustainability and precision. She aims to create jewellery that is both sculptural and wearable, offering a tactile experience that celebrates craftsmanship and individuality.

Alongside her signature Concentric Circles range – five rings spinning on a central axis, Highly Commended in the 2025 Winter Jewels Best in Show award – Gillian is showing pieces set with surfite, a colourful layered resin that is a by-product of surfboard making. Her surfite range began with a pair of cufflinks made for her surf-loving son when he swapped his wetsuit for a business suit. She has also recently added beaded gemstone necklaces and bracelets to her work.
